Living Near Camp North End: How to Compare Locations
A framework for comparing homes and rentals around the campus without the hype.
By North End Charlotte Living Editors · Published October 18, 2026 · Updated October 18, 2026

Define 'near' honestly
A home a half-mile away on a map can be a pleasant walk or an unpleasant one, depending on sidewalks, crossings and lighting. Walk the route before deciding.
Compare the right things
- Actual pedestrian route and transit access.
- Event-night traffic and parking on your street.
- HOA obligations and reserves for townhomes.
- Nearby construction and permits.
- Flood information for the parcel.
- Total cost of ownership, not just price.
What not to rely on
Claims that proximity to the campus raises home values are not something we can verify for any specific property. Neither are blanket ‘walkable’ labels.
